This is a much better, more fun, and honestly more poignant and less on the nose Hunger Games. It’s basically satirical, very on the nose commentary, but even then I feel it’s more effective at making its point than Hunger Games. Plus it trusts its audience way more. I really liked it, but don’t think I’ll continue the series; it just has too many swear words, crude sexual jokes, and slight nihilism for me, but I totally recognize that that’s just a personal preference. At the end of the day it made me feel things a couple times which is great, but I didn’t find it quite worth all the crudeness. Again, I know that’s a personal taste thing so if you can watch Rick and Morty without blinking then you’re going to love this. It made me excited to get back into writing my own book!
