The acting, music, sound and narration were top tier. The plot was nothing special. This was advertised as a funny book, and you can tell they were really trying to be funny. That was grating.
The main character was annoying and so was the “snarky” system. The humor was clearly supposed to come from the banter between the two but it didn’t hit for me.
There were long scenes where nothing happened but exposition. Boring.
That being said, I enjoyed it enough to finish and I will probably give the next book a shot.
