It’s like if you took The Running Man, The Hunger Games, and a levelling, dungeon crawling RPG and put them together. The narrator took a few chapters to grow on me, but once he did, I feel like he does a fantastic job. The voices are well done with only a few exceptions. I tried this after trying to read Primal Hunter and getting through almost two books and just giving up. I started this one because I heard it was one of the best in the genre up there with He Who Fights With Monsters, which I love, and tbh, while I hate to admit it, I think I like DCC more. I hate to stop reading it and I love that I can listen to the audiobook while I’m doing things, laundry, chores, driving, or even at work when I’m not busy. Highly recommend.
