What made the experience of listening to The Stronghold the most enjoyable?
I feel like I’m listening to my own story. Everything Grant and the community is going through with setting up a working community. It’s a lot more difficult than you would think and the struggles and successes are all in the book. It is amazingly written and read by a fantastic narrator.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Stronghold?
When the team first had to kill someone in the community. Heartbreaking.
What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The characters are jumping out of the book into life. Extremely well read. This Glen Tate guy is reading my mind, and this Kevin Pierce guy is speaking my mind.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
America is collapsing to her knees and being weighed down by the chains of limas. One community fights back for liberty and freedom without the need for a government. One community will break the chains and set liberty free.
Any additional comments?
A lot of “prepper” fiction is, well, weird. Not 299 Days. I feel 100% comfortable suggesting this to my “normal” friends and family. The book is an eye opener to the possibilities of what can be accomplished without government and how actual freedom could look.
