Well, if this was an attempt to rehabilitate the character of the callous fae serial killer, Cian, it was less than convincing. Yes, serial killers can fall in love, but that hardly atones for Cian’s senseless murders or his walking free of consequences. The book has lots of side stories that don’t move the plot forward but seem solely to show that the “new” Cian can be kind and helpful. Is enough to forgive him? Harumph. Granted, given the Council’s evil doings, it sure is handy to have a powerful godlike fae warrior like Cian in Beacon Hill’s corner for the moment.
