Absolutely love seeing two of my very favorite narrators continuing to work together! This story did have some Dungeon Crawler Carl vibes and I enjoyed how Dinniman leaned into this with the occasional reference to that unsurpassed series. In fact, though I love Baldtree immensely, I think I would have preferred to hear Hays voice Roger with that hauntingly clinical tone of the “normal” AI from DCC. Baldtree was amazing but his buzzing AI robot voice doesn’t convey the same dispationate menace I think I would have preferred here. An excellent audiobook regardless, and I FERVENTLY hope to keep seeing all these rascals in collusion for the foreseeable future.
