Order army ranger and his teenage son survive “nuclear EMP” blasts from North Korea and engage on what feels like the fantasy a lot of 2A nuts describe as the reason they need a personal arsenal. between the exceptionally well behaved teenager and the dad bemoaning that he hopes his son will just listen to him for once (what???), to the xenophobic and racist lite ™ commentary about “knowing the types” of people that would mean danger by their look… I just couldn’t even get through book 1. if you really dig strong-man fantasies in which you live on your prepper stores and massive arsenal of personal weapons (even taking care of the ladies in town by giving them supplies and hand guns, awww), then this novel is for you! the writing itself and performance aren’t bad. The material is awful.
