Book 1 of the series was excellent. but as the books have gone on they’ve strayed far away from someone well suited (but not totally prepared ahead of time) for a national collapse scenario. That was an area that was fun to read the authors ideas on.

As the books have gone on they’ve gone into a deep conspiracy blaming everything from the UN to China to a shadowy cabal for the problems the country is facing.

as the books have gone on we’re shown that the author has a tenuous grasp at best on the primary concepts behind geopolitics, domestic politics or even simple concepts of right and wrong. I mean we’ve gone from a Mad Mick who was upset that foreign governments had influenced US politics in any way. and especially that China and Saudi Arabia had, to them trying to put a Chinese military contractor oligarch in charge of the US gov…

it doesn’t make any sense.
