While the storyline was good, it could have been great had Hartmann focused on more than just the one storyline. The constant sexual tension references and the “my brother, her brother” along with the ridiculous over protection reactions of both “brothers” was so overused that, by the end, I was over it.
It’s a good enough story to read, however, I would absolutely NOT recommend this on audible as the female narrator, Stefanie Kay, ruins it with her overdone shaky, breathy reading. She has no other tone for the entire book and you’d think, just by her portrayal of June, that the character lives in a shell shocked continuum of helplessness, surprise and instability. Every sentence has a word or two that she drawwwwws out that I finally gave up on the audible and finished by reading the book.
