Many logical inconsistencies during combat scenes spoiled most of the major climax scenes for me. Ex getting staggered from a ground stomp while standing off the ground etc. Multiple 15 min sections of reading entire stat blocks after minor changes also ruined the flow.
I enjoyed the story in spite of the inconsistencies but will not pursue this series any further. It felt like ~60% of the book could have been removed with no loss. I don’t need to be told how someone’s perk works every time they use it.
*note I straight up skipped all Zach chapters. I started doing this in the previous book. I do greatly enjoy the name tags on the chapters so it’s easy to skip them.
