This book, as well as the entire series itself,has great character development . The individual character growth each member of Donut’s team experiencea seems real, not forced. The friendship/admiration/respect and love between Carl and Donut is evident through their actions and decisions makes the reader forget that Donut is a cat who is emotionally on par with a toddler or a young pampered and entitled child who matures with each passing day. it is a great series and I have listened to the first 6 books at least three times. I have enjoyed each additional “read” and I have improved my understanding of the rules etc, of this genre making subsequent books m ore enjoyable.
