Exactly what I didn’t know I needed.
It’s dark, gore filled, and laugh out loud funny. The narrative throws you into the action without introducing 20 people that all get confused until you’re halfway through the damn book. You start out with 2 to 3 relatable characters who get built up and back stories added while they stumble through their new situation.

Synopsis: A man and “his” cat get thrown into a kill or be killed dungeon on their now destroyed planet. This slowly gets set up like a video game or dungeons and dragons, but this first book is very light on the nerd aspect and heavy on a great story that has a fantastic narrator.
I think the narrator adds so much to this experience that I would definitely listen to it and not read it.

lightly similar reads: The first law trilogy – Joe Abercrombie. The Black Company – Cook.

other books with phenomenal narrators: The Martian – R.C. Bray.
Ready player one – will Wheaton
The Black Prism – can’t remember, but he’s great too.

This is a great book and you should check it out
