One night Carl notices his cheating ex-GF cat has escaped outside. So, Carl puts on a shirt with his boxers and ex’s pink too small crocs to go fetch the cat “Princess Donut”. As they are outside EVERYTHING gets flattened and a message is transmitted into all surviving human’s brains. The world has been invaded and conquered by extraterrestrials, those survivors can either take their chances on the surface or descend through stairways around the globe, volunteering for an intergalactic version of Survivor.
Dungeon Crawler Carl is if Running Man x Hunger Games x World of Warcraft. I LOVE IT!
As the first book in the series, I didn’t know what to expect and MY OH MY as I have ventured deeper into the series the growth and development of things just gets better and better.
Carl – Human
Princess Donut – Cat who ventures into the dungeon with Carl.
Very quickly we learn that these invaders have some pretty high tech and nifty gadgets. Like a biscuit that once consumed allows Princess Donut to communicate with others.
Mordeci – Game Guide who within reason explains the rules and other features of the game to them.
This is overall a humorous look at human society. Really reminds me of a Mel Brooks production.
P.S. The audiobook is EPIC!!
