this is one of those stories that sounds good in the first 5 minutes but then makes you question if you made a bad choice but if you stick with it long enough you’ll feel that you made the right decision when you got it. the humor is funny and campy though the writing can leave a bit to be desired at times. sometimes it feels like the writer is a middle school kid trying to create an overpowered character without proper World building and build up to make it enjoyable. over time that displeasure starts to fade away and the cast helps make that better and the world and the overpowered MC start to mesh properly but for me it took about 2 hours into the story before that happened. I absolutely love the voice they chose to voice the main character. he feels like the perfect fit, mean that positively given the fact the main character is totally pompous and full of themselves. he brings a lot of energy and emotion to the characters whether it’s through sarcasm, the cringy laughter that the MC has, moments where you feel like you can actually see him rolling his eyes and critique etc. I bought the first three books on sale for about $5 each and in the beginning I thought I may have wasted $15 but now I’m looking forward to starting the second book. I will say that the first book kind of feels like it stopped somewhat abruptly and didn’t really have much of a climax like most stories do so there’s that to keep in mind but that’s not really saying much to trying to deter you from getting this.
