The plot and characters are well-written. I enjoyed the novel as a whole. The narrator, however, does not do this book any justice. She was slow and robotic. I listened to over half of the novel before she stopped grating my nerves. I had to select 1.5 playback speed in order to remain interested, which is a shame since the story is so good. I added the other Maureen Gould novels to my wish list, but they are all narrated by the same person, so I guess I will just have to deal with it.
