My Review – A lot of fun
This is one of those first person “you’re in the adventure” action stories that I love to come across. It mixes a grungy voice and wierd plot that keeps you engaged all the way throughout; i felt like I could see the dungeon and the characters “on-screen” the whole ride. Carl is the kind of main character that is us, he’s a little goofy and is just trying to make sense of what the heck is going on. His cat companion, Donut, is the perfect ying to his yang and makes the experience so much funnier (I love hearing the voice actors talk). The creatures and wierd thing is just the right kind of wierd too, you know? Like, who thinks of that? (ACHIEVEMENT!) lol. The pacing is just right also, giving you what you need while spicing it up a little; its an RPG story for goodness sake! I highly recommend this book if you like these sorts of stories (as MANY have already recommended to me to read/listen to) and i think you’ll def enjoy your time.
P.S.: If you like stories in this style, you’ll probably like “We Are Legion (We Are Bob)” by Dennis E. Taylor as well. Its similiar in storytelling delivery but has a scifi techy kind of material, it’ll make your brain buzz!
