Being a gamer, I’d tried a few other litrpg books in the past and figured I just wasn’t a fan of the genre, or fantasy in general. I usually prefer scifi. I’d been seeing this series recommended over and over by Bobiverse groups and was recently looking for a new listen so figured “what the heck”.
Instantly hooked. It’s the whole package, original, funny, exciting with a fantastic narrator that can somehow sound both like Kronk and Claptrap (usually not at the same time).
The best part personally, is that I’m always trying to get my husband into books/series that I like and he’ll half-heartedly listen when I am while cooking or whatever and enjoy them enough that we can talk about storylines, but he’s not eager to listen. He heard about a quarter of the book 2 days ago and he’s already on book 2, passed where I am, listening at work even. He hasn’t listened to an audiobook on his own in a year!
