The combo of Frabklin Horton and Kevin Pierce is THE BEST prepper fiction there is. Franklin is a great writer. However, I believe that over the years he has been stretching his word count to ensure he meets his 8 hour audiobook quota. This book is 70% the thoughts inside the character’s heads or the detail about moments that have no impact on the story. this is a classic author trick to stretch the monetary value of a book. I love this author but if youre in interested in a solid prepper-minded story, consider his later work as a 3 hour story sold to you as an 8 hour one. The Mad Mick series is amazing but also laced with this tendency. if I had one bit of feedback for Horton as a lover if his work it would be to chill on the wordysness and deliver the story more effectively even if it means combining 2 books into one.
