At first the main character doubts, and “stiffness” annoyed me a bit, but it’s exactly the point of the story. Slowly you come to know her better, to understand her, as she tries to understand herself in her late years. It is a beautiful narrative, and it forces you to remember there will be a last day for all of us, and what we do in between is the only thing that matters. I even cried a little as the story come to an end, and it had been a while since a book made me feel such.
