I can’t say enough good things about this book series. It’s one of my favorites and I can’t wait to hear more from, Ben, Joel, Gunner and the rest of the group.
One of the things I liked the best about this series is it stayed focused on the main group of characters throughout the series. There was no jumping around to different times, places, and people. It’s totally immersive, and the reader is there right along with them in their journey through thick and thin.
Good characterization throughout the series. I enjoyed each of the characters and the way the narrator brought them all to life. Ben sometimes gets a bit too enthralled in his thoughts about unpleasant thing his children have been through which gets a little repetitious at times. but that’s okay, we understand Ben hasn’t been through an apocalypse before and he seems to be the most emotional of the group although an Alpha male ready to lay down his life to keep his family safe including the dogs.
