The story does take a bit to get into just due to world building in the first handful of chapters however, once it gets going, it gets going and there is no stopping it. If you were expecting something similar to Dungeon Crawler Carl I would say you’re going to be disappointed. There are similarities like sci-fi meets real world, aliens declaring war, and etc. This also does have a sassy AI who is my spirit animal, but I feel like these are on two different scales and it would not be fair to compare them to each other. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to more work by Matt Dinniman!
