I really enjoyed this book. The story was engaging and humorous. Loved that the main character was smart rather than macho. Lots of good action without being too gory. However, I could only give this book four stars, even though I fully intent on continuing the series, because the women characters were so badly written. There is almost no information given about these ladies, and no character development. And there were opportunities! One is the sole survivor of a massacre. How did she survive? what was she doing during the slaughter? Apparently the author didn’t think we needed to know. All we know about these characters is that they are beautiful, they cry and swear alot, and fall in love at the drop of a hat. They contribute very little to the story or the action. If there was a more cliché and stereotypical way to write women, I haven’t seen it. So four stars, but hoping these gals get personalities in the upcoming books.
