You’d think that if I could handle detailed descriptions of a serial killer’s actions, I could tolerate descriptions involving cat torture. Unfortunately, Jack Olsen’s ability to paint such vivid, unsettling pictures with his words proved too much for me. I had to stop listening at chapter 34 (out of 95).

This is a rare case for me because I absolutely love this author and narrator—they are the dynamic duo of true crime audiobooks. Since this was the last book available from their collaboration, I decided to give it a shot.

However, I just can’t continue. The details are so intense and graphic that they’re literally making me feel sick. I’m certain it’s an excellent book for the right audience, but it’s simply not for me.
