Although written in the odd style of letter correspondence, which I am not accustomed to in the least, the last time I devoured an audible book this quickly was when listening to Matt Haig’s The Life Impossible. This book, although different in almost every way from that one, held my attention in the same way Life Impossible did, which is rare for me. I simply could not stop listening. I waited with mounting anticipation every time a letter was written for the response from the party that had been addressed. I must say that every time a letter was responded to, I found it deeply gratifying. To top it off, the narration, especially for the person playing Sybil, was absolutely impeccable. I could listen to that woman read the telephone book. Not that telephone books exist any longer.
