NR Walker is a favorite author. I’m pretty sure I’ve read or listened too all her books. This story brought me to tears, because NR Walker knows how to write with heartfelt realism. The pain of losing one’s beloved takes a long time to heal from. I recognized the resistance to date again, subconsciously fearful of another deep loss. This is a beautiful story. I love the descriptions of southernmost Australia’s coast, the small island community, the penguins, and especially the lighthouse dates watching the ocean and the stars in the universe.
