There are no redeeming qualities to this book. The MC is rich and lazy, spending his time laying around in a VR world. His sister in law hangs out with him in game using his dead wifes face/body. Somehow MC has no idea that this character that he loves because she looks EXACTLY like his dead wife is actually based on her, and is controlled by his SIL. Why? Terrible writing.
SIL convinces MC to actually play the game, because it is about to be shut down for financial reasons. She explains that players are bored with the game, and needs his help to unlock game content. Somehow players have no idea that they haven’t even unlocked over half of the game content, and the company doesn’t do anything to reveal all of this content even though the company is desperate for income. Why? Terrible writing.
MC puts together a small team of completely unlikable characters who do not work well together and by all accounts should not be playing together. You might think that MC is the glue that holds them together. He’s not. In fact, he makes things worse. Why? Bad writing
The writer wants us to sympathize with MC and see him as a great leader who stands up for the little guy and is a gentleman who respects women. Instead, MC was written as a horrible leader who abuses his group, abuses or ignores the characters in need, and is extremely sexist towards women. Why? Terrible writing
