Everything about this book seems like a troll at first glance. The word “bunny girl” in the title, with a horror-looking book cover, and a ridiculous author name. But it’s narrated by Soundbooth Theater, and honestly that’s the only reason I bought it (I’m a big Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobook fan). Even after buying it, I definitely expected it to be stupid, and never thought I might want to continue the series. Well, I only made it halfway before I started looking for the 2nd audiobook, which is apparently still in production. But the author says he’s signed with SBT for the whole series, and after hearing this book I’m looking forward to that!

The narration is fantastic. Each character has their own voice, and none of them seem out of place. The narration has the right level of energy at all times. I never felt bored by the narration, and the only time I noticed a bad thing about it was the “Elise said” happening too frequently, but that’s on the author, not the narrator.

As far as the book goes, it’s a classic LitRPG “kill things to get stronger” type book, but it is very well done, and the author has put much more thought into…thought…than your average LitRPG. Another review complained that they’d rather read a social studies book, but I thought that part of the book was extremely well-done and interesting. To each their own, I guess. I like the main character, I like the world building so far, and the characters that seem likely to be long-term fixtures in the story are all interesting enough. I’m definitely getting the next one the day it releases!
