I couldn’t get past Chapter 9. I really wanted to like it, the story sounded intriguing and had lots of fun potential. I found the MC to be continually and completely unlikable, rude, immature, self-pitying and realized I didn’t WANT him to succeed, didn’t want him to get the guy. I wanted his antagonist, the clearly decent guy he both drooled over and treated like crap, to find someone better. I didn’t want to suffer and groan through his redemption arc. There was nothing to like about him. He’s had a rough life, and he’s bitter. Yay. How groundbreaking.
