I’ve never read a book that packed such a punch just 50% in. Every action sequence was both engaging and easy to follow, which is something I struggle with in fantasy battles. It’s also not often you see a fantasy adventure with a mother in her 30s as a main character. My only complaint was that the author decided to make up new language for units of time measurement and that felt unnecessary.
