Compared to the first book I liked this one much less. I’d say about half of it lived up to what I expected after listening to the first, which I really liked.
I don’t know if I’ll listen to the next one or not.
I dislike all the viewpoints, I’d prefer it to be more limited. Not everyone needs a first-person viewpoint to tell their story. Not everyone needs to be able to tell their story, I’m perfectly happy. seeing it from the protagonist viewpoint, only knowing what he knows.
As for the first 3 hours, I guess you could consider it the first story arc, I did not like it at all. I’m not saying it doesn’t fit in the story world, but it felt more like a short story that could have happened at any time. It went from protagonist learning and growing in power, to them being played around like puppets, with no growth. Exactly the opposite of the previous book.
