I have a lot to say about this book, but I will keep it short. Let me start by saying that I have read all the books in this series so far and have enjoyed each one. This one however is another story. I actually wish I read this one instead listening. The female narration was good but the male narration just wasn’t it. I think it was the cadence in which he read. It lacked fluidity which made it hard to follow for me. If this was done in duet it might have been easier to listen to. In regard to the story themes and plot. I feel like more time could have been taken in regard to fmc owning her strength and sexuality. Not just her queerness. They never talk about the what she saw in the Library stacks. How the mmc winked at her in a moment of passion with someone else. He had the confidence to do that but not tell her how he felt? There wasn’t even an internal monolog shared about that moment from the mmc. Disappointed.
