I was really enjoying the title—the writer spins a great yarn—until the point when one of the lead characters was on a plane and a flight attendant is described as “offering” herself up to him. The story devolved and became increasingly incredulous from that point on. The “unconventional” relationship which ensued we could see coming from a mile away; it was unbelievable, improbable and too simplistically written. I stuck around to the end because I was invested by that point but I was largely disengaged and just looking for it to end by the final third. A disappointment for a story that started out so strong. Sorry. It was just not at all convincing to me. The narrators, especially the master Leslie, saved the day again.
