In general, I have been enjoying this author a great deal, they make me laugh out loud at times. But this book was dark and I really did not like the consent issues. Having people bound together, even if they work it out later, does not equate to consent. It’s more like the old-fashioned look you said no, but you didn’t really mean that because you changed your mind trope. That really bothered me all the way through. I did listen to most of it because it was the middle book, and it filled in some blanks. I think in hindsight I would’ve been just fine with number one and three
