As if I didn’t already love the Vancover Tridents to infinity, Julia Jarrett goes and gives us the sweet southern charmer, Rhett Darlington. I mean how hard can one swoon? Because I was swooning from start to finish. This man is pure perfection with that southern twang that will have you melting into a puddle. Alexander Neal nailed it with the southern draw. He was incredible as Rhett.
And sweet Evie? Gah! I loved her so much. Lena Lee narrated Evie perfectly and genuinely captured how sweet and awkward, but so endearing Evie was.
A cute little abandoned puppy, the little terror known as Ruthie, may have brought these two together, but what’s meant to be will always be, and it was clear from the beginning that they were going to be something special together. The mutual pining for years between these two finally came to a head and when it did, fireworks! I loved the passion and chemistry between them, both in and out of the bedroom. And Rhett’s dirty talk with that southern drawl…wowzers! It’s no wonder Evie couldn’t get enough of this man.
The narrators really made this story come to life. The inner monologues were so fun to listen to, and made you feel as though you were there witnessing their love story unfold. Incredible book and audiobook. I can’t wait for Yami’s story to be told.
