I wanted to like this series, and Kevin Pierce is one of my favorite narrators, but I could only endure the first 1 1/2 books. The storyline is so ridiculous and full of holes and very predictable most of the time. The story follows the theme that a lot of these post apocalypse books follow. It doesn’t matter how much you prepare or how many supplies you have, they will all be taken away (many times). You will be captured (usually many times). Seems like everyone should prepare less on obtaining food and weapons and work on escape and fighting techniques, at least they can’t be taken away over and over again. The hero can fight off and kill lots and lots of bad guys, but he couldn”t kill the main antagonist if he had a double barrel shotgun to his temple (until the end, when we know the hero wins). I am very tired of these stories that drag out the inevitable an entire book when the problem could have been easily solved in chapter 1. Can’t believe I wasted a credit on this.
