Spoilers and trigger warnings for murdered and burned kids ahead:
This is probably the first time I am not on the main characters side in a story. They BOTH kill innocent people and KIDS. And we are meant to feel sorry for them and still want them both to succeed ? I couldn’t finish the last 30 minutes of the book once ” The child was laying there in their mother’s arms, still holding a teddy bear and their face burned off” scene was read. There are NO redeeming qualities in the fmc or mmc. Why are we supposed to like these two, and why do we want them to win? Why is she burning down the city and murdering everyone ( INOCENT PEOPLE AMD CHILDREN) in the city that she spent the entire book trying to protect and save? Absolutely ridiculous and dont suggest this audiobook to anyone.
