If Dungeon Crawler Carl was an excellent, then Carl’s Doomsday Scenario raises the bar and brings forth far more suspense and thrills than the first could hope for, and does so in a much shorter book! Despite the brevity of the second installment of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, this book packs a serious punch with both world building and epic adventure as our favorite duo (and Mordecai) make it to the third floor. As our Crawlers explore the wide expanse of floor three’s “Over City” we gain a better understanding of so many different mechanics while also being shown the beginnings of a complex system that the Borant Corporation and Syndicate Government are running behind the scenes of the game.
Matt Diniman and Jeff Hays make the ultimate pair for this production through incredible writing and phenomenal performance. The inclusion of more sound effects from Sound Booth Theater add to the immersion while not taking away from the actors abilities. You must continue this series until its conclusion if you’ve already started the first!
