To say this audiobook is boring is an understatement. MC is basically a dungeons and dragons Lich that woke up in a Wuxia setting. He is a rather interesting MC but the book doesnt really put him in any interesting sittuation. Everyone the MC meets immediately recognises his superiority and the very few feelgood moments where someone underestimates him (the main appeal or OP MC stories) are very very, very, lackluster. MC is crazy strong, everyone who isnt a street urchin from Dwarve craftsmen to gods know he is super strong. Nothing happens. Just MC bossing everyone around and everyone around taking it.
Story can be summarized to: Lich wakes up in chinese Wuxia setting. Goes around tryng to learn about the world and boss everyone around. Picks up a random student who ends up a warlock and he her patron. Find out gods use his philacteries as power batteries. Effortlessly beats up the gods and takes his powers back. Embarks on a journey to get the rest too. He could just teleport around, kill all gods and take them ofc, he admits as much, but he wont cause he wants to take his time. 0 stakes. 0 risk. Not my cup of tea.
