A sad case of narration actually impeding comprehension and enjoyment. Every sentence is read exactly the same way with exactly the same inflection. All of the words are emphasized equally so comprehension remains elusive and nuance is but a distant memory. Actually made it difficult for me to continue at times. I’m sure this narrator would be wonderful at news casting or perhaps reading manuals but this is a tale that deserved to be read like a great novel. Instead, I feel like I’m being instructed on how to put together a set of plastic drawers. Such a bummer.
