I instantly fell in love with Bogart, a police dog who was rescued from a kill shelter by Shay, a warm hearted woman looking for uncomplicated affection and companionship. Hiding from an violent ex, Shay was likable and determined not to let the jerk ruin her life.
I never really warmed up to James, Bogart’s human partner who tracked down his missing canine partner and totally jumped to the wrong conclusion. Instead of being professional and respectful, James treated Shay like a criminal. What an ass! While James redeemed himself, it took some of the fun out of the story.
