Didn’t expect much and was pleasantly surprised. The character development was solid. I felt like I knew the main characters early on. The pace was very fast and yet it was building to a conclusion.
I like Phil Thron’s narration stile. I think some others don’t. There are parts of the book that sounded like Phil Thron’s narration of the Post Apocalyptic Warrior (Duct & Cover) series. At a point I wondered if both authors used a similar ai assistant but this book predates ai.
I digress. If you like Dungeon Crawler Carl, you will like this. It’s fun, thoughtful and believable.
