Nuculer is not a word. Why have a narrator that cannot correctly pronounce nuclear for a book like this? That word must be in here 1000 times! There were times he correctly said nuclear, but when I got my hopes up that he changed mid-book he would say nuculer in the next sentence.
Perhaps worse is that every time there was dialog between characters the narrator would speed up his speech to like 1.5-2x. Meaning that no conversation was “normal”. The characters were speed running their scripts like the dialogue was intended to be forgettable.
Story itself… is ok. Hours of set up for something. If I wasn’t annoyed by the narrator, then perhaps this drawn out background wouldn’t have annoyed me either.
