What a long book! All of the protagonists are pretty antagonistic. Criminal motives for everything they are found. Nobody you would. Look up to. There is one exception. A super-powerful wizard on the lam joins the family and ensures all their grifting succeeds. He loves to kill people and other wizards. I’d hoped they would all get what they deserved, but they all continue to grift and be parasites on all of mankind. Lots of little adventures with no overall plot. Some characters get recycled in later stories, but that’s it. It’s a bunch of unrelated stories with the same actors. It’s very much like a TV series. Because the stories are unrelated, there is no grand plot. Once I figured out how it was going, I kept at it until the end—not believing it would be as plotless as it was. The author wrote an interesting book about robots being the next evolutional step for man that was interesting. That’s why I read this. I think this would be best suited for a 13 year old delinquent that likes to read.
