Alright, I finally caved and started this series. It’s just as funny as everyone has said it would be! I’ve switched a bit between reading the book itself and listening to the audiobook narrated by Jeff Hays. The style of writing in the book itself is likely not everyone’s cup of tea, as there are a lot of font changes, info dumps, and internal monologue moments. The audiobook however is entirely engaging, with Jeff Hays making what could be confusing info dumps into hilarious narrative moments through his voice work and tone. There have been several moments where my fiancé has overheard bits of the book playing that made him just sit next to me and listen to a chapter or two while we both laughed and got caught up in the story. I’m so glad I picked this up and will 100% be getting the audiobooks for the rest of the series and recommending them to friends.

Also, the audiobook is somehow the ONLY thing that keeps my newborn sleeping in her bassinet without waking up and crying. I don’t know what it is about Jeff Hays’ voice but even she’s a big fan. 10/10 on his performance here.
