It took me a few tries to get into this book, but it was well worth it. Jeff Hays kills it, as always. His singing voice is absolutely amazing. The only complaint I have about the narration is that the female elves all sound the same, even though they’re different voice actors. The story is also good; it’s got a down-to-earth, flawed MC who reacts to the new world in a realistic way. It’s quite heart-warming by the end. If you enjoy DCC, (especially Growler Gary’s voice), you’ll*probably* like it. Screenie is basically the system AI, but not a psychotic foot-fetishist with a penchant for excessive violence. Some of the comedy is a little corny, but it works well in context.
