Oh goodness! Where to begin with this entire series?!
This was my first time reading anything by K.A. Merikan…and I was all sorts of things, but disappointed I was not.
Fantastical and entertaining all the way through…even if I wanted to smack a couple of the characters sometimes. All of the main characters were larger than life and so well developed I feel like I’m leaving friends behind in the end. The story kept me hooked from beginning to end, and had me talking/yelling out loud to fictional characters as if…*shrug*…
Super thought-provoking…it should have you questioning all kinds of everyday things in life, including how we all think, feel, live, love, laugh, JUDGE, behave, believe, belittle, consume…seriously. Plus! It was extra spicy to boot! 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
A few reviews mention triggers…and they are correct…I can see some subject matter causing anxiety for particular people, but I’m thinking those particular people would not normally want to read or listen to books of this title/nature, especially if they read the overview presented either via book cover or the summary prior to online/audio purchase…and also in the reviews…just sayin’.
Now, while I was completely taken by this series…as mentioned above, a couple of characters made my eyes twitch…and others made me smile/lol like a lunatic…here’s my verdict on the crew:
Most Annoying Character – Ever: ELLIOT! UGHHHH!
Runner-upS!: Laurent, Jake, Joker
Most Detested: King (blech), Yes…even more than Fane…since Fane was basically a mad man.
Most Lovable: SHADOWWWW!
Most Surprising & Outrageous: MAGPIE!!! For the WIN! 🥰
Best Overall: BEAST!!
Best Freaking Narrator?!! JOEL LESLIE🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
