Protagonist is born and bred in a small town in Louisiana, went to school at LSU. The setting is Baton Rouge. Narrator didn’t use a single southern accent, let alone a distinct Louisiana accent. Would have made the book so much better. Also, where’s the editor, no one’s tires squeal on wet pavement, they spin and slip when you’re taking off in a hurry, when you step on the gas. A lot of inconsistencies in the character development.
