Enjoyed the first book but this one was disappointing. Kers became a crybaby simp who even lets adventurers walk all over him.
Selene got even worse, instead of helping Kers retrieve the champion cores she chases a fairy around to berate them for disagreeing with her on using banned isekai weapon, then yells at Kers to stop crying. Terrible interaction that makes no sense. Selene is supposed to be a sarcastic yet helpful and lovable character, not heartless and annoying.
The biggest issue however is the fight with the dark lord. Needlessly drawn out just so the “hero party” could show up and help save the day.
No problem with the bad cliff hanger since it doesn’t make me want to listen to the next book. I rather hope that’s the end for “that character” and they got what they deserved.
Dark guild story line does not intrigue at all.
Overall, this book went away from what made it fun and interesting. Dungeon and world building.
Will be dropping this series.
