Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely – the writing is warm, witty and the performance is superb. The author’s style is droll and totally delightful… It reminded me of the work of Dave Barry or Stephen Fry. The story weaves together a hilarious cast of characters all over the globe which come together in zany fashion. I’ve recommended it to people already.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Gelatin Coast?
The book is filled with ‘aha’ moments where you see how the ludicrous domino effects begin falling into place. It’s like a giant wacky puzzle and watching it unfold is great, great fun.
Which scene was your favorite?
The early scene with the bat trapped in the car had me in stitches.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I found myself becoming surprisingly attached to Mickey the Moose.
Any additional comments?
A brilliant job with the narration. The narrator not only has wit and style, he juggles countless characters with a ridiculous number of accents. The performance has an insatiable theatricality which made listening a treat. I look forward to more from Sacrison… he truly is one of the most charming new writers I’ve come across.
