This series leans in fully and sucks you into the storyline with Carl. The story is first person, so you learn “what’s going on” with Carl. Imagine Hunger Games, a Friday night D&D game, and Survivor were all blended with a strong helping of comedy, sarcasm, and puns. The author also manages character development in a multi-dementional way – there are so many shades of grey that makes even the bad guys relatable.

Warning – This series is addictive and reading can indocternate you into the DCC cult.
